MARCH 19, 2014 - This enjoyable Science With A Twist (S.W.A.T.) event happened at Crestview Elementary School. Nature's Natives was invited again to join in with students and their parents for an evening of exploring science experiments and demonstrations.
MARCH 7, 2014 - It a beautiful evening for Atala's Montessori School for Creative Expression Everglades Festival. Students and parents joined me on the stage for the Nature's Natives® Breathe, Eat & Photosynthesis presentation where they participated with jumping jacks and deep breathing exercises while learning where we get our oxygen and food.
APRIL 2nd, 2014 These events have a special energy. This SWAT (Science with a Twist) was presented at Nova University for the benefit of several local elementary schools. I presented Water Needs, Supplies and Conservation using a poster and an 'aquifer' demonstration'. It's always wonderful to see parents and kids having a good time in this friendly learning environment.

JUNE 5th, 2014 Today's presentation marked the first for the Summer at Broward County's libraries. We did something new during this Parkland Library presentation of, Nature's Natives® Breathe, Eat & Photosynthesis. We listened with stethoscopes so we could hear our insides. It was a fun and educational experience as we head towards environmental literacy.
JUNE 12th, 2014 What a nice library! The Broward NW Regional Library is big and the rooms were full including ours for the performance, Nature's Natives® Water Needs, Supplies & Conservation. We started out with a bit of technical difficulty but quickly got into the rhythm of finding out why we need water, how we get water inside us, where our water supply is located and how to conserve water.

JUNE 23rd, 2014 The Miramar Library is located in their Civic Center and was full of patrons at 11:00 a.m. We had the lecture room for the performance, Nature's Natives® Water Needs, Supplies & Conservation. We learned about different parts of us (like our blood cells) that need water and listened carefully to hear our hearts pumping. One young man described it sounding like a door opening and closing.

JULY 8th, 2014 The Lauderdale Lakes Camp, invited Nature's Natives® to present Water Needs, Supplies & Conservation to their 100 campers (in two groups). The older kids were a bit tired after a full day of camp activities and it was a good time to present our natural connections to water. The kids were engaged and had very good questions and observations about health and the environment.

SEPTEMBER 9th, 2014 Today was special. All of first grade students at Welleby Elementary School enjoyed an 'at school' field trip. Nature's Native® Wanda Water's Water is a perfect introduction to the importance of water and water resources.
September 24th, 2014 Nature's Native® was back at Camp Choee for the Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida Eleventh Annual Family Festival and Membership Rally. This was a wonderful day where girls and their parents shared the camaraderie. Nature's Natives® demonstration of why we need water and where our water supply is located was a natural fit for the day.

December 12th, 2014 Ms. Quintero put together Mater Beach Academy's first SWAT (Science With A Twist) and the evening was a huge success! In the Nature's Natives® station we demonstrated why we need water and where our water supply is located. For the older kids we played 3 minutes, 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 degrees, which gets us thinking about our connections to the planet.

February 13th, 2015 The temperature was a pleasant 70 degrees for this outdoor S.O.U.L. fest event at McNicol Middle school in Hollywood, Florida. The students spent their time playing and learning about the environment. Nature's Natives presented a quiz game about how Earth works (nature's systems and cycles) and why we care (our connections to nature).

March 19th, 2015 What a fun time we had with this new Nature's Natives presentation. The lesson today was simple and that is if we take care of our soil, water and plants then they will take care of us in the form of food that provides nutrition for our bones, muscles and blood.
March 24th, 2015 Spring Break was a good time to join in the camp fun and share the Nature's Natives lesson of Nutrients and You! The campers had a good time linking the connections from soil to food to their health!

April 11th, 2015 It was a beautiful day to be outside by the Miami River for the 19th Annual Miami RiverDay at Lummus Park. I met so many nice people and families. The Nature's Natives lesson of the day included an interactive quiz game that shows how Earth works (nature's systems and cycles) and why we care (our connections to nature).

May 20th, 2015 It was fun meeting the 5th grade students at Gateway Environmental K-8 in Homestead, FL. I was invited to speak at Career Day as a graphic artist. I took this opportunity to present how Nature's Natives came about. Next, I showed the purpose of Nature's Natives, How Earth Works and Why we Care. The finishing touch was the discussion of how different subjects like English, Art, Science and Math contribute to the finished product.

The first Earth Day was celebrated on April 22nd, 1970. That was 46 years ago! Through community activism, Earth Day continues and the topic of climate change is finally creeping into the conversation.
